SPM Form 5 Prinsip Perakaunan Workshop
Methodist Pilley Institute and ACCA Malaysia have jointly organized SPM Prinsip Perakaunan Workshop for Form 5 students. The workshop was conducted by Puan Ong Ai Ching, a Guru Cemerlang with 32 years of experience in teaching Prinsip Perakaunan. The workshop was attended by over 1200 students from 60 schools from Sabah and Sarawak. The purpose of this workshop is to instil interest in the study of accounting among SPM students and enhance their knowledge in the subject of SPM Prinsip Perakaunan, to better prepare SPM Form 5 students to sit for SPM Prinsip Perakaunan Exam, and to create awareness on the accountancy profession among SPM students and encourage them to pursue a career in accountancy. The opening ceremony was graced with the presence of Dr Les Met, Timbalan Pengarah, Sektor Pembelajaran, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Sarawak.
As the Govt of Malaysia aspires to turn Malaysia into accounting hub for the world. And, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) has estimated that the country needs 60,000 qualified accountants by 2030. Basically, every business needs accounting services. And, individuals, especially those high-income earners, would need good accountants to advise and help them. Even at personal level, we all need accounting knowledge to better manage our finances.
Principal Hii King Kai encouraged students to choose Accounting as your course of studies and professional career, “as the saying goes, when there’s crisis, there are opportunities. Based on the basic law of demand & supply, the demand for Accountants remains high, it will mean that those who choose to take up the profession of accountancy will be in great demand.”
SPM 会计基础理论工作坊
卫理毕理学院和英国特许公认会计师公会（ ACCA ）联办SPM 会计基础理论工作坊。工作坊由拥有32 年的SPM 会计基础理论教学经验的卓越老师王爱群主讲。该工作坊获得来自沙巴和砂拉越的 60 所中学的老师和1200 多名中五学生参加。 本次工作坊的目的是培养 SPM 学生对会计学的兴趣，增加他们对 SPM 会计基础理论的知识，并更好地准备中五学生参加 SPM 会计基础理论的考试，并提高他们对会计学的认识SPM 学生的会计专业，和鼓励他们从事会计事业。 由砂拉越教育部副总监Les Met 博士主持开幕仪式。
马来西亚政府希望将马来西亚变成世界的会计中心。 据马来西亚会计师协会（Malaysian Institute of Accountants） 估计，到了 2030 年，我国需要 60,000 名合格的会计师。基本上，每个企业都需要会计服务。而且，个人，尤其是那些高收入者，需要优秀的会计师来为他们提供建议和帮助理财。 即使在个人层面，我们都需要会计知识来更好地管理我们的财务。
卫理毕理学院院长鼓励学生选择会计作为自己的学习目标和职业，“俗话说，有危机就有机会。根据供求基本规律，对会计师的需求仍然很高，这意味着选择从事会计行业的人将有更多的就业机会。”
