Methodist Pilley Institute, established in 1991, is the oldest private higher learning institution in Sibu, Sarawak. The Institute provides higher education in the areas of accounting, taxation, finance, business management, computing, early childhood education, social work and English, and is well known as an excellence institute for business programs in the regional.

1. Marketing Communications Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for generating press releases and content creation for the company website, social media, infographics and newsletters.
  • Create content for digital channels, such as websites, social media, newsletters, advertisements, brochures and other marketing materials.
  • Develop, plan, coordinate and execute digital marketing and advertising campaigns across multiple channels including paid advertising, social media promotions such as Facebook, TikTok, search engines & emails.
  • Create and manage online events, promote online advertising space in all digital channels including pre-event needs (pre-registration and campaigns).
  • Analyze trends and explore new ways to engage audiences and discover emerging social networks.
  • Involve in marketing recruitment activities which includes counselling, schools visits, participate and promote marketing campaigns, develop surveys, and enhance student support services.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism, Marketing or related field (Media background is highly desirable).
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut) and graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Photoshop). Preferably with 1-2 years working experience in digital marketing, social media management, or related roles. (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply).
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, XiaoHongShu & etc).
  • Good command of English, Bahasa Melayu & Mandarin, both written and verbal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and accountability in all tasks.

2. Accounting and Finance Lecturer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To conduct teaching and provide academic support and ensure that programmes are delivered in accordance with the prescribed standard/quality.
  • To monitor student report progress in terms of academic performance and attendance.
  • To offer counselling to students and provide pastoral care.
  • Nurture student talents and potential through extracurricular activities.
  • Involve in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
  • Work in collaboration with sales and marketing to achieve targeted student enrolment, including organizing seminars, college activities, open days and programme previews.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Master’s Degree in a related discipline.  Candidates with PhDs are preferred. Fresh graduates with PhDs are also encouraged to apply.
  • At least 2 years of lecturing experience in tertiary education. Relevant industrial experience is considered as an added value.
  • Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in facilitating teaching and learning.
  • Possess good written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently.

 

3. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Early Intervention

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach Early Childhood Education and related subjects to diploma and degree students within the ECE department, as allocated by and reviewed by the Head of Department.
  • Assist in the management of existing and future academic programs (diploma, degree) under the direction of Department.
  • Assist in the supervision of students in academic matters and provide support to students as needed.
  • Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of Early Childhood programmes.
  • Participate in the development, administration, and grading of examinations and other assessments.
  • Participate in the administration of the department’s programs of study and other related activities as required.
  • Conduct project, research, produce publications, and participate in departmental and faculty seminars to share research outcomes and promote interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.

  • Maintain professional development through continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Responsible for establishing and developing the Early Intervention and Inclusive Education program within the Early Childhood Education setting under MPI ECE department management.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Early Intervention or Special Needs Education.
  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a related discipline is required for the Early Intervention position.
  • Ability to follow instructions and carry out duties as directed by superiors.
  • Strong teamwork skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, able to take initiative, and remain calm when handling crises.
