Art Education of the Early Childhood Education Programme at Methodist Pilley Institute
Department of Early Childhood Education of Methodist Pilley Institute has several subjects specially designed for art education, such as Music, Movement and Drama in Early Childhood Education, Creative Art in Early Childhood Education, Children’s Literature and Children’s Theatre. Early Childhood Educator can provide a different learning mode and create a different learning environment for children through art education – providing them with opportunities and space to think and practise. It has no established standards; children can think for themselves by using existing knowledge to play and to create. This self-discovery learning mode can train children’s independent thinking and critical abilities and enhance their interest in learning.
MPI College Prep Course (CPC)
SIBU: MPI is providing the College Prep Course (CPC), a short programme that enables SPM, STPM, and UEC graduates to choose to study any subject in the Diploma programmes, including accounting/taxation, business, early childhood education, computing, social work, and language (Korean and English), over the course of one semester, lasting seven weeks.

MPI became his choice of institution for study because of its good reputation in accounting programs & the campus is very close to his house, so it is both cost-saving and convenient to traveling for study. SIBU: Joey Tang, after completing her study at SMK Tung Hua decided to pursue a study of accounting as she sees that there is an increasing demand for more qualified accountants. “Accounting is a subject that can be applied in many areas of our lives. An Accountant is part of a large network of other professionals. So, there are more job opportunities in the market.” As Methodist Pilley Institute is well-known for accounting programmes, it is located at her hometown Sibu, it naturally became her first choice of higher learning institution for tertiary education. “MPI is a place full of human touch, as lecturers and college mates here mainly came from central region of Sarawak, especially Sibu. During study, whenever we encountered any problem, we would try our best to help each other by solving it together.” Joey believes that Team effort with her classmates and support from her family are the critical factors of her success.
