Lecturers’ support – a determining factor to students success in professional programs

Methodist Pilley Institute started ACCA program (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) since 2006. Last year, due to outbreak of Covid 19 disease, physical courses were changed to online courses. Life, especially pandemic life, is full of threats and uncertainty. When we feel afraid, bringing more love into our lives can help. Such change does not affect the professionalism and the commitment of MPI lecturers. MPI lecturers supported the students to continue to learn and overcome the hurdles of sitting for the ACCA remote exam.

MIA Talk

The MIA Talk was capped at 100 participants with MPI accounting lecturers and students, some participants from UCSI, UCTS, SMK Form 5 students and public who also showed interest in this topic.

We thank the speakers and all the participants who took time to join this talk that helped us to have a better understanding on who is MIA, how to become a Chartered Accountant in Malaysia, how to apply MIA membership, what are the privileges becoming a member and so forth.

Teaching & Learning and Assessment for Sem 1, 2021

As announced by the MOHE on 31 Jan 2021, 6 categories of students are allowed to return to campus from 01 Mar 2021 onwards. However, as confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sibu are still high, we shall continue with online teaching & learning and formative assessments for the time being.

卫理毕理学院与特许公认会计师公会（ACCA）联合举办牛年线上红包挑战赛。这项活动的目的是让2020年及2021年SPM中五和独中高三的学生，即使在受到疫情影响而受限制在家学习的情况下，也能参与有益于他们学业和会考的线上益智活动。

Scholarships and awards

Methodist Pilley Institute shares financial burden with the students with financial difficulties. During this pandemic, the decrease in family income has caused many families facing financial burdens. Principal Hii King Kai emphasized that Pilley Institute is a non-profit higher learning private institution.

卫理毕理学院及特许公认会计师公会（ACCA）将于2月6日（星期六）上午9时至11时主办“牛年” 线上红包挑战赛。

Social Work Short Courses

Methodist Pilley Institute will offer three short-term social work courses from January 15 to April 30, for 14 weeks, to provide a learning opportunity for anyone who wants to learn basic social work knowledge and skills in a short period of time. These courses will be conducted in the form of online learning. The language of delivery is English and Malay. There is no requirement for admission. A student can choose one or up to three courses at the same time.

Learn Korean Language from Native Speaker

Methodist Pilley Institute will offer Korean Language course for existing students and secondary school students beginning January 2021. The new language course aims to enrich the learning experience of the students by learning another language.
