LitHubX Community Programme – MPI is now a partner to MYReaders
Early Childhood Education department of Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) is now a partner to MYReaders, a non-profit organization, to develop children’s literacy skills through a structured and sustainable reading programme provided for children between 6- to 12-year-old from B40 communities.
MYReaders’s vision is to empower children through literacy. MYReaders provides sustainable reading programme with resources and materials. MPI adopted the Volunteer Model, which is conducted in person or online focusing on building literacy in English language. Currently, MPI has volunteers from different regions serving children from B40 communities in Sarawak. The first batch of children are recruited from Sibu, Bintulu, Kapit, Julau, and Kanowit, and the reading programme commences in December 2021 to June 2022, a total of 28 weeks.
