SIBU: Sarah Lau Shi Yan, after completing SPM Qualification at SMK Bandar Bintulu, decided to pursue her study in accounting at Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI). She first started with Diploma in Accounting, then currently on her way to complete Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Accounting. Sarah shares what drove her decision, “I chose to study in the accounting program as the accounting field offers a wide array of career options, from auditing, tax accounting, and cost accounting to managerial accounting, with several professional certifications for each. Besides, MPI also provided an ACCA course, which is a global body for professional accountants with Gold Approved Learning Partner.”
MPI Diploma in Taxation student Grace Wong Sie Kee
SIBU: Grace Wong Sie Kee, after graduating from SMK Kanowit with SPM qualifications, has decided to take the Diploma in Taxation course at MPI because this programme can prepare her for careers as tax consultants in the tax preparation and financial planning industries. Taxation is important to the functioning of any economy, usually bringing in most of the revenue a government will have available to use. It typically involves several key skills, including legal interpretation and analysis, calculations, and providing advice. There is an increasing demand for tax consultants in the market, so studying taxation gives her better employment prospects.
MPI Diploma in Business Management Student Aaron Tan
SIBU: Aaron Tan Wee Wee, after graduating with SPM qualifications from SMK Tung Hua in 2020, continued to pursue a Diploma in Business Management. The primary reason is his aspiration to be an entrepreneur. Studying business management can help him develop skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving—the skills and knowledge needed to start and manage the whole business, including people. With a genuine interest in the field of business, Aaron then decided to take a diploma in business management as part of the pursuit of his career ambition. SIBU: Field visit to HIC 根生源 by Diploma in Social Work lecturers & students. HIC AGRO PLT is set up in responding to the calling of God to establish an agricultural farm. HIC helps them rebuild lives of ex-offenders by providing gainful employment and providing holistic ways to reintegrate them into the society through skills training and employment opportunities.

SIBU: Social Work and Early Childhood Education students having their field trip at Agape Centre. Welcome everyone to do drop by and give them a support. The café is mainly operated by people with intellectual disability.
