Methodist Pilley Institute’s TAX WEEK – “Are you ready for Personal Income Tax Filing?” (你准备好提呈个人所得税了吗？)
SIBU: MPI is inviting all to the coming 2 tax sharings in the month of April. On Wednesday 13 April 2022, 2:30pm – 4pm, we are partnering with Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) for an informative and useful e-filing session. The speakers are executives from their Sibu branch, Encik Abdul Hakim Hussein and Puan Norzatul Hajar Haron, they will be covering step-by-step e-filing process and personal tax relief year assessment 2021 respectively.
On Saturday 16 April 2022, 9am – 12noon, MPI is collaborating with United Chinese Association (UCA) Sibu Division Youth (诗巫省华青团)and Sibu Koh Yang Xu Clan Association Youth (诗巫高阳许氏公会青年团) to host “Are you ready for Personal Income Tax Filing?” (你准备好提呈个人所得税了吗？). The speaker is MPI’s Tax lecturer of Bachelor (Hons) Accounting, Dr Dominic Hu, CA, FCCA (许起荣博士). Dr Dominic Hu is a Chartered Accountant in Malaysia and also a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, he will be sharing why, the benefits and how you need to file a tax return, as well as other important aspects such as types of exempted income and tax reliefs that could reduce your tax payable, LHDN’ audit procedures with the necessary supporting documents, and the penalties imposed of non-compliance.
The venue for these 2 events will be at Wei Kuok Hall (卫国礼堂) in MPI campus.
MPI is one of the very few colleges in Malaysia that offers 2 years Diploma in Taxation, in fact the only one in East Malaysia. Students graduating with Diploma in Taxation at MPI are able to sit for Malaysian Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) professional examinations. The next intake will be in May 2022.
