MPI Makes Her a More Confident Person

According to her, apart from focusing on her studies, she gained a different skill set that put her at an advantage over everybody else.

She said as an undergraduate in the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Marketing, students focus on marketing, and now it is more into social media and digital marketing.

“I am also part of the Multimedia Team (MMT), which is a team under the marketing department. Part of my job is to produce videos for our social media.”

“Some of the projects in our study require us to produce videos, and it is quite easy for me because I know all the basic stuff already.”

“In a way, being part of MMT gave me the opportunity to put my knowledge into practice,” she said.

She also said that the lecturers would make efforts to bring students on field trips to give them some exposure to the industry.

Hiong, who is also part of the Student Ambassador team, said that she graduated with a Diploma in Business Management in 2023 before continuing her degree in marketing.

She said she chose to study at MPI because her sister was a student in the accounting programme.

“At first, my mother wanted me to study accounting, but I said there are other courses to choose from, so that was how I got into the Diploma in Business Management,” she said.

She said she loved the environment on campus. She believed that as a small campus, the lecturers would take more time to guide the students in their studies.

Most importantly, she had fun as a student in MPI.

“I was in the Student Council. I think the greatest lesson I learned is that we need to be able to accept new things. We do not just come here to study but to learn as much as we can,” she said.

Meanwhile, among the programmes offered at MPI include ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (FIA), ACCA Qualification, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Finance and Investment, Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Taxation, Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Business Information System, Diploma in Computer Science, Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Diploma in Social Work, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Marketing, Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Hons), MUET 1, and Intensive English.

MPI will start its new programme, Diploma in Nursing, in July.
