Become a Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) graduate with solid character that makes you successful in life, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and principal of MPI Dr Lu Huong Ying told the students.
Addressing the new students for the September Intake at the orientation today (Sept 24, 2026), she said this would distinguish MPI students from students at other universities and colleges.
“What makes you different when you graduate from MPI? It is your job to tell the people or your employers that you graduated with that solid character. Whenever you can do that, MPI will always be proud of you,” she said.
According to her, MPI is good and well-known not just for the transfer of knowledge but for skills as well, ensuring students are ready for the workforce and can build their own careers. However, most importantly, character must come first.
She also mentioned that MPI always tries its best to support students who need financial assistance. She also thanked the Methodist Church and organisations for ensuring that MPI could make a difference to students who have financial difficulties in furthering their studies.
