MPI Partners with Elderly Care Centres to Train the Next Generation of Caregivers

SIBU: Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three elderly care centres recently to strengthen elderly care training.

The centres involved are En Ling Day Care Centre, Alpha Home Centre, and Adam & Eve Sibu.

Through this collaboration, the centres will open their facilities for field visits and practical sessions as part of the upcoming Training Programme for Elderly Care Assistant, which will commence on Nov 17, 2025 (Monday) and run until Dec 19, 2025.

This programme aims to equip learners with essential caregiving skills — from understanding the needs of the elderly to providing safe and compassionate support.

This five-week programme also addresses Malaysia’s growing demand for quality elderly care services as the country transitions towards an ageing population.

Training will be conducted online for the first three weeks. Participants will undergo practical sessions during Week 4, followed by written exams, procedure assessments, and a field visit in Week 5.

Participants will be trained by experienced nurses from MPI’s Nursing Department.
