SIBU: The entourage from Gan En Methodist Miri had a fun day learning more about Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) during their visit to the campus on April 2, 2025.

From trying the food at Special Incubation Cafe to getting to know the campus facilities, the entourage was amazed by what MPI is offering its students.

The pastor in charge, Reverend Winnie Lau said they had been talking about MPI a lot but never got a chance to visit the campus.

There is a feeling of you being in a university, and I think that excites us and the students. We did mention to the students that they could consider furthering their tertiary education in MPI.

Today, I think it is a great opportunity for them to learn more and to see what subjects they are interested in. This tour is also giving them the idea of the benefits studying in MPI,” she said.

She also believed that MPI could produce many great graduates.

MPI’s Manager of Marketing and Student Recruitment Bobo Wong briefed them on the programmes and financial aids available at MPI.

The students also took the aptitude test to find courses that suited their personality.

To learn more about the MPI, visit the campus during Open Day 2025 on April 12 from 9am to 3pm.

There will be course counselling, campus tour and information on scholarship, loans and aptitude tests for the students to find courses that suit them.

Full-time students who need financial aid to start their programme with MPI can tap into the national higher education fund (PTPTN).

As part of MPI’s commitment to delivering industry and community-relevant programmes, two new programmes, Diploma in Nursing and Diploma in Special Education (Early Years), are being developed and will be offered soon. There will also be an introduction to a new short course – Patisserie, for youths with a keen interest in baking and pastry arts.

Also in the pipeline is programme counselling for Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programme Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (ACCA FIA), Accounting, Taxation, Marketing MUET 1, Social Work, Business Management, Computer Science, Finance and Investment, and Intensive English.
