| SIBU: Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rejang Healthcare Centre on Nov 6, 2025 to strengthen elderly care training.
Through this collaboration, Rejang Healthcare Centre is open its facilities for MPI students for field visits and attachments for the upcoming short course Training Programme for Elderly Care Assistant. The signing of the MoU was between Rejang Healthcare Centre Director Dr. Peter Tang Ing Bing and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MPI Dr. Lu Huong Ying, witnessed by MPI Nursing Department lecturer Tong Xiao Hua and Administrative Manager of Rejang Healthcare Centre Sdn. Bhd. Fung Sing Kit. The Training Programme for Elderly Care Assistant will run from Nov 17, 2025, to Dec 19, 2025. It aims to equip learners with essential caregiving skills – from understanding the needs of the elderly to providing safe and compassionate support. This five-week programme also responds to Malaysia’s growing need for quality elderly care services as the nation moves towards an ageing population.
